Description

  • 06:15-07:15 Pickup from your hotel in Bangkok or meeting point in Bangkok and travel by minibus to Mae Klong Train Umbrella Market which is located southwest of Bangkok.
  • 09:00 You will arrive at Mae Klong Train Umbrella Market and then visit the famous Train Umbrella Market on the train tracks and watch as the stall holders quickly pack away their goods as the train approaches.
  • 09:30 You will then take a longtail boat to the edge of the Floating Market where you can walk around the market and experience the atmosphere of the Floating Market with merchants selling vegetables, fruits, foods, drinks, souvenirs and crafts from their boats and riverside stalls.
  • If you wish to ride in a paddleboat this costs 150Baht per person extra and takes you through the Floating Market where you can observe the sale and exchange of various goods between parties in their boats as has been traditionally taking place for years.
  • 11:30 Lunch at local Thai restaurant.
  • 12:00 After lunch you will then visit Klong Khone where you will take a longtail boat into the local mangrove forest. Klong Khone is a local estuary which contains a mangrove forest inhabited by wild monkeys that live amongst the mangrove trees. You will cruise around the mangrove trees in a longtail boat and can watch and feed the Klong Khone mangrove monkeys. The monkeys will jump from branch to branch in the mangrove trees above the water and will swim in the water around your longtail boat as you feed them.
  • 13:30 After enjoying the atmosphere of the Floating Market and Klong Khone monkeys it is time to depart back to Bangkok.
  • 15:30-16:00 Return to Khaosan Road area of Bangkok.
