AYUTTHAYA BY NIGHT HALF DAY TOUR (DT146)

Description

  • 12:15-12:30 You will be collected from our meeting point near Khaosan Road in Bangkok and travel by minibus to the city of Ayutthaya which is located to the north of Bangkok.
  • 14:00 Arrive at the city of Ayutthaya. Here you will first visit Wat Yai Chaimongkhon which was built by King U-Thong in 1357 for meditation purposes. After Wat Yai Chaimongkhon you will visit Wat Mahathat which is famous for the sand-stone Ayutthaya-style head of the Buddha image entwined in the roots of a giant fig tree. After Wat Mahathat you will visit Wat Chaiwatthanaram which is located on the bank of the Chao Phraya River in Ayutthaya. Wat Chaiwatthanaram was built in 1630 and is famous for its large central prang (Khmer-style pagoda) surrounded by smaller prangs.
  • 17:00 After visiting the Ayutthaya temples you will ride a longtail boat for 30 minutes along the Chao Phraya River around Ayutthaya.
  • 18:00 Dinner at local Thai restaurant.
  • 18:45 After enjoying the beautiful temples in the ancient city of Ayutthaya it is time to depart back to Bangkok.
  • 20:30-21:00 Return to Khaosan Road area of Bangkok.
