- DAY 1
- 06:15-07:15 Pickup from your hotel in Bangkok or meeting point in Bangkok and travel by minibus to the city of Ayutthaya which is located to the north of Bangkok.
- 09:00 Arrive at the city of Ayutthaya. Here you will first visit Wat Yai Chaimongkhon which was built by King U-Thong in 1357 for meditation purposes. After Wat Yai Chaimongkhon you will visit Wat Mahathat which is famous for the sand-stone Ayutthaya-style head of the Buddha image entwined in the roots of a giant fig tree. After Wat Mahathat you will visit Wat Phra Si Sanphet which was the Thai capital for over 400 years and you will then visit Viharn Phra Mongkol Bopit which is where one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in Thailand is located.
- 12:30 Lunch at local Thai restaurant.
- 13:30 After lunch you will visit Wat Lokaya Sutha which is famous for its giant reclining Buddha. After Wat Lokaya Sutha you will then visit Wat Phu Khao Thong which locates a 50 meter high chedi or Buddhist tower.
- 14:30 After Wat Phu Khao Thong you will then visit the beautiful Summer Palace (Bang Pa In) which is known for its architectural styles blending traditional Thai with Chinese and European influences. The Summer Palace (Bang Pa In) incorporates different buildings and pavilions with beautiful tropical gardens and lakes.
- 15:30 After enjoying the beautiful temples in the ancient city of Ayutthaya it is time to depart for Kanchanaburi.
- 17:30 Arrive at Kanchanaburi guesthouse and free time.
- Stay overnight in Kanchanaburi guesthouse.
- DAY 2
- 08:00 Breakfast at your guesthouse in Kanchanaburi.
- 09:00 Here you will first visit the famous River Kwai Bridge which spans the Khwae Yai river in Kanchanaburi and was constructed by prisoners of war during the Japanese occupation of Thailand during the second world war. After the River Kwai Bridge you will visit the Allied War Cemetery and then the JEATH War Museum which houses many artifacts and photos from the second world war with details and explanations about this era.
- 10:30 After the JEATH War Museum you will take a train ride along the Death Railway (about 60 minutes).
- 12:15 Lunch at local Thai restaurant.
- 12:45 After lunch you will travel to a local elephant camp where you will experience elephant riding (30 minutes). After the elephants you will also experience bamboo rafting (30 minutes) along the river.
- 14:30 After the elephants and bamboo rafting you will travel to the pretty Sai Yok Noi Waterfall where you have free time to enjoy this refreshing area of Kanchanaburi.
- 15:30 After enjoying Kanchanaburi it is time to depart back to Bangkok.
- 17:30-18:00 Return to Khaosan Road area of Bangkok.
